Wolfgang Trost
Born in Rendsburg,
Germany, (a small city, south of Denmark), Trost came with his family to
"pursue the American dream" in 1960. And pursue he did. Today, the results
of' Wolfgang Trost's labors of love in architecture can be seen throughout
the entire Kansas City area including Loch Lloyd in the south to Ward
Parkway near the Plaza. His style is unmistakable.
Wolfgang began his career after
graduating from the University of Kansas in 1977. "I always had a love for
the fine arts and science, and during my third year in college, I just knew
architecture was for me," he said.
He ventured on his own and started his own practice with his wife as his
business partner in 1981. Today, Wolfgang employs three architects and three
support staff who oversee projects that scale from small home remodeling to
his trademark upscale custom homes, where his love for design and quality
are truly defined. As Wolfgang Trost says, "It may have been in my genes
that I became an architect. My grandfather was a prominent engineer, and my
father was a store planner designer.
Kansas City has been an especially strong market for home building
during the last decade. The forecast for the future, according to local
builders, designers, and developers, looks forever strong as well. Area home
buyers have had a wealth of quality homes to choose from - stretching from
north of the river to the southern boundaries of Johnson County. Read on to
see how these local architects, builders, developers, and realtors have
changed the landscape in Kansas City in a way we can't forget.
